Recently, our homes invited their local communities to join them for Open Day to meet the team and residents and experience everyday life in the home. This is a great opportunity for residents to connect with the community and enjoy the activities and entertainment hosted by our wellbeing teams with some new friends.
Ivy Court Care Home in Norwich welcomed the community for coffee, cake and a tour of their beautiful home, joined by the Lord Mayor of Norwich, Vivienne, who came along to meet residents and show her support to the home. Talented singer, Louise Elder, sang some nostalgic 50s and 60s songs and the hospitality team put together a party platter of nibbles that went down a treat!
Bradbury House Care Home in Braintree invited the community to see a day in the life at the home, with fun games and arts and crafts. Residents showed off their creativity, working on Christmas cards for the Aria Care Christmas card competition.
Oak Manor Nursing Home in Dereham had a visit from The King of Rock and Roll himself and residents and visitors had a great time dancing to some Elvis classics.
Visitors to Firtree House Care Home in Tundridge Wells go to see how creative and talented their residents are as they decorated wreaths and pumpkins in an autumnal arts and crafts session.
Ferfoot Care Home in Chippenham invited Redlands Primary School to visit on Open Day and took this opportunity to celebrate diversity in their home and educate the children of the many vibrant cultures in their team. For their ‘Around The World’ day, the team dressed up in the beautiful traditional clothing of their cultures and Ferfoot’s hospitality team put together a massive spread of dishes from 15 different nationalities!
The local community visited Garth House Care Home in Dorking to meet the team and residents and learn more about their day-to-day. Soprano performer Kathleen Linton-Ford stunned everyone with a fantastic performance that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
