Bradbury House Residential Care Home is conveniently located in the heart of Braintree, close to a range of amenities including shops, cafés, pubs, a museum and theatre, ensuring that our residents can be supported to easily access everything they need for a fulfilling lifestyle. Braintree, is a small market town that enjoys a weekly market and we are within a short walk of shops, cafes, a church and beautiful public gardens.
Life at Bradbury House has a real community feel, a home from home. Our community offers an inviting dining area, where our residents enjoy home-cooked meals and if they wish to do so they can help themselves to a drink at the bar. When the sun is shining residents can relax on the front patio and even if it’s raining residents can have some quiet time listening to forest music whilst sitting in the indoor garden.

We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.
We are dedicated to providing a smooth transition into a home where care is from the heart and interaction with residents is paramount. Our residents show us the way. They tell us what they need, and we do our very best to deliver. Every element of our care is considered with their needs in mind. Surrounding everyone with familiarity, security and care, we make their experience with us as fulfilling as possible.
Reviews
The relationships between the staff and the residents were clearly genuinely friendly and full of fun and good humour. It was also easy to see that the staff put in a lot of effort to make the home, well, homely!
The coffee was also excellent, and I appreciated the opportunity to enjoy it while being shown around, and introduced to residents who were in good spirits.
A smaller home, but still wonderful!
Bradbury isn’t just a care home it’s a Family that makes you feel welcome as soon as you enter the building.

Meet the Manager
Sheree is our Home Manager at Bradbury House Care Home, here’s a little bit more about herself and the home in her own words:
“I have worked in the care sector for 28 years, starting as a Night Care Assistant in a nursing home. I have worked as a Care Assistant, then Senior Care Assistant in various residential, nursing and dementia homes. I joined Bradbury House 12 years ago and was a Senior Care Assistant for six years, also covering as Head Chef during this time. I then progressed to Deputy Home Manager for six years and at the end of July 2023 I became the Home Manager.
I enjoy my job because it is fun! I love talking and listening to our residents about their life before coming to live at Bradbury House. I love bringing a fun element to their day by being a little crazy! I feel happy knowing that I make our residents feel safe and confident knowing that their best interests are my priority.
I love leading my team and encouraging their ideas, no matter how big or small, to improve and enhance our residents stay at our home. I feel that I have a positive impact and that I motivate others and believe that my team enjoy coming to work at Bradbury House.”

Our carers and nurses are highly skilled, with qualifications to manage all types of care, including residential, nursing and dementia. Within each team, we’re also able to offer specialist care for complex conditions.

It’s important to me that we offer a comfortable and homely setting that our residents are proud to call home and support them to be as active and sociable as they wish.

Getting Social
This morning at the activities table, residents have been making a milk chocolate button cheesecake it looked and tasted amazing 😋😀
Some residents spent some time in the garden playing group games of connect 4, while others stayed in the warm and watched a film and doing jigsaw puzzles.
This afternoon in the lounge we had a game of giant snakes and ladders, well done to Ray who won the game 🐍🪜
We had a group singalong using YouTube and have the lyrics on the big screen and enjoyed a group singalong 🎶 🎵

This morning we visited the Braintree Museum they had a exhibition of the Emergency services going back to 1920s, Looking at the old fire brigades and uniform. 🚒🚑🚓
This afternoon at the activities table we had group game playing connect 4, which got very competive 😅
Today was Chocolate Milkshake day 🥤🥤and this afternoon residents got to enjoy a variety of flavours of Milkshake and a slice of old school cake which was enjoyed by all 🥤🍰

Thank you to everyone that joined us for Bradbury house coffee morning. thank you to the lovely ladies from Tesco for bringing residents some lovely treats ro enjoy and for coming and having a chat with us all ☕️🍰
This afternoon residents joined in a exciting brain-teasing Quiz-A-Round show. They where asked questions based on 4 different themed topics and we had 30 seconds to discuss and answer the questions as a group and we did very well with getting 30 questions out of 40 right. 😀

Residents and staff would like to say a huge thank you to the lovely staff at The Pizza Guys who kindly gifted pizza's for the residents and staff, they where delicious and where enjoyed by everyone 🍕 😀

This afternoon we had group game of hoopla and target darts, well done to David who scored the highest score getting 100 points on hoopla.

Today is Emergency Services Day! 🚒🚓🚑
Today we took the moment to appreciate all the amazing people who work for the emergency services, who work hard every day to keep us all safe. Whether on the frontlines or behind the scenes, thank you for everything that you do!
We celebrated with Carrot cake made by our Chef Pam, offering it too the wonderful nurses and doctors that look after our residents.
