My husband unexpectedly has ended up in a nursing home. Have no fears about Oak Manor. After only 4 days I have been in tears twice through the overwhelming, palpable love, respect and dignity shown to my husband. I swear the whole team give him more love and care than I could. They are the most incredible team – it’s one family – they’re like cherries from the same tree. Thank you Team Oak Manor.

5🌟service fantastic care home specialist in dementia. All the staff are well trained and empathetic. Great activities both individually and group sessions. Very person centred and all expertly managed from a very supportive approachable Manager
Thank you for everything you do for my family member.

I would strongly recommend this care home for your loved ones living with dementia. It don’t matter how fancy a home looks if the staff aren’t well trained and empathetic and loving towards the residents like they are at Oakmanor 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Lovely Nursing Home. Occasionally visit as ambulance crew as requested by staff. Always impressed by the care and professionalism of all staff, regardless of role. Residents appear very well looked after and cared for. Feels like a ‘home’ , which it obviously is for most.

Meet the Manager

Laura is our home manager at Oak Manor Nursing Home – here’s a little bit more about her role at the home in her own words:

“I have always wanted to work in care, it is my passion and I feel extremely fortunate to be the home manager at Oak Manor.

I began my career in care by volunteering at a nursing home and I loved every second of care home life. As I became a senior carer, I decided I would fulfil my dream of becoming a nurse, studying adult nursing and gaining a first-class degree. As a qualified nurse, I drive the highest standards of person-centred care. Although I love being a nurse, I also love being a manager, with the ability to influence positive change which I get great satisfaction from.

Getting to know the people we care for, seeing them happy and improving their lives holistically is one of my greatest motivations. Our residents must always be the centre of all we do.

When residents choose to make Oak Manor their home, every day will remain just as they like it, with careful note taken of their preferences, from waking times to food choices, hobbies and interests.

We are here for you and your loved ones every step of the way to help and will do all we can to put our residents and their families at ease. The most important thing is that they are happy.”

Understanding that providing excellent care goes beyond physical wellbeing and fosters a strong team spirit and connections to the local community.

It’s an absolute privelage to care for our residents and support their families and I very much enjoy my role as deputy manager here at Oak Manor.

I’m responsible for planning activities and events to promote the wellbeing of residents, and to ensure they have the support they need. I enjoy a challenge and the unexpected and love getting to see all the residents every day.

My role is to support the smooth running of the home, ensuring that all departments, processes and team members work together. It’s a pleasure getting to know residents and supporting the team in any way I can.
