Welcome to Firtree House
Firtree House Nursing Home, is located in the historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Tunbridge Wells is most famous for the historic pantiles as well as many shops and fabulous cafes to countryside hikes. There is also the famous Chalybeate Spring which brings many visitors to the area each year. There are many attractions in the area like stately homes, Abbeys, Vineyards, and many nature reserves, wineries tours and sightseeing.
It was given Royal status in 1909 by King Edward VII because Queen Victoria liked it there so much. It has a chilled-out, slow pace of life making it a popular hot spot for day trips for our residents. Our community stands out because we all take the time to get to know each other and using this time to enjoy each other’s company.
Life at Firtree House is very friendly and laid back, we have built up great relationships with our residents over the years and support them through life. Our resident-centred care ensures their lives are enriched with activities and care that is suited to their needs.
What does care from the heart mean to the team at Firtree House?
“Understanding and support are the heart of the service we provide. The transition into a care home can be a huge change to life and although it is our role to make that transition as comfortable and stress-free as possible, it’s a role that that we absolutely love doing. Building relationships with residents is key to seeing each individual for who they are and what they would like from us. We love our family here and will always give them 100%.”

Meet the Manager
Jackie is our Home Manager at Firtree House Nursing Home. Here’s a little bit more about her role at the home in her own words:
“Having started as a Care Assistant at Firtree House over 15 years ago, and working my way up to Home Manager, I understand what makes the home tick. I firmly believe in involving residents and their families in every aspect of life at the home. This approach has ensured the large property has maintained a homely feel.
My Care Team and I work with each resident to develop a personalised care plan, which caters for their specific needs and ensures that residents have choice and control over how their care is delivered.
I am particularly passionate about getting to know residents and their families and feel that having a good understanding of each resident’s background is essential in building a relationship of trust. I always encourage family involvement through a culture of open communication, which has resulted in the calm and friendly atmosphere experienced at Firtree House.”
