Reviews
Like I said on a previous review that has been done on the NHS webpage. I used to work here 9 years ago and some of the old colleagues still work here and Ive on been a resident for a few days due to a car accident and it’s a lovely place. Not too far for the family and friends to visit. The staff are very lovely and helpful , they could with a few more staff. The atmosphere is very nice and peaceful. I’m in the garden today because I’ve mostly been in my room because of the weather during the week had not been good.
On the day of her arrival in August 2017 she was shown into a very clean and nicely decorated en-suite room and warmly welcomed by the Kippington staff.
My family and I were immediately impressed with the friendly and caring attitude shown by Edwin, the manager who has a nursing background, and all of the staff that we met then, and my views are unchanged today.
There is a very happy atmosphere there and the carers (who are permanent and not agency) are always very considerate and willing to assist anyone in need. They regularly chat with residents and often go the extra mile by, for instance, trimming and painting the ladies’ fingernails to make them feel extra special.
I visit my wife almost every day and always find her contented and relaxed, wearing clean clothes and with her hair tidied. She enjoys the food (there is a choice of meals) which is always tasty and well presented.
Kippington is a very happy and well-run care home. The manager often participates in the organised activities and has an ‘open door’ policy which means that he can be approached at any time by residents or family members who have any concerns.
I totally disagree with the disparaging comments made about the home by the anonymous ‘Google User’ who according to his/her many reviews posted, has encountered problems dealing with at least eight other care homes/agencies in the Sevenoaks area.
Maybe a look in a mirror will identify the real source of Google User’s problems!
Edwin the Manager has improved the atmosphere and can often be found singing with the residents.
Our Catering staff work hard to provide Healthy and Nutritional meals for our residents.
Our domestic staff make sure all the rooms are kept clean and tidy, and the Laundry staff take special care to clean and iron the clothes and return them to the correct rooms .
Whilst our Health Care Assistants and Nurses care for our residents daily needs with understanding, compassion all the while retaining our residents Dignity and giving Respect.
The Entertainment team provide activities to stimulate the Mind and Body, we also have outside entertainment in the form of Musicians , Singers and we have visits from the pat dogs for the residents who like animals to stroke.
There is a small garden for our residents to enjoy the sunshine, they can sit by the fish pond or walk around the garden to see the Squirrels and birds feeding.
I enjoy coming to work, being a familiar and friendly face in the mornings for our residents.

Meet the Manager
Esther is our Home Manager at Kippingtons Nursing Home, here’s a little bit more about herself and the home in her own words:
“With a Degree in Business Management and a Masters in Dementia Studies, I have worked within the care sector for fifteen years, twelve of those have been as a manager. I have worked mainly with people living with dementia during my time in the sector, however I have also supported a range of care needs including adults with complex learning disabilities.
I enjoy getting to know our residents and listening to their life stories, you can certainly learn a lot from their wisdom. I love the aspect of leading a team of heroes that go above and beyond their everyday to support our residents. I put quality care at the forefront of what I do, providing person-centred care, treating everybody with dignity and respect. As Home Manager I like to think I bring a sense of smooth running, professionalism, collaboration, and trust to the home.”
