Welcome to Heffle Court
Heffle Court Care Home is located in the charming market town of Heathfield in East Sussex. Heffle Court is a 39-bed home, that provides a wonderful homely environment for those who are living well with dementia. We are a community not just here to support residents living with dementia, but also the family members seeing their loved ones continue on their dementia journey.
At Heffle Court, there is always hustle and bustle and every day is different. Our community is family orientated and the home itself has a lovely, homely feel, where residents feel truly part of the family.
We involve our residents when appropriate in the daily working of home life for example laying of tables and washing up, to enable them to stay active both mentally and physically, which our residents love.
Here at Heffle Court we promote a calm and relaxing atmosphere and promote residents’ independence as much as possible – “it is not what they can’t do, but what they can.”
What does care from the heart mean to the team at Heffle Court?
“We work with our residents to enhance their skills and sense of wellbeing and treat everyone as an individual. Our team takes pride in knowing the residents past histories and incorporating them into their current lives. Making them feel at home.”

Keeping Things Personal
The welcoming surroundings at Heffle Court Care Home are matched by the high standard of individual care our colleagues provide to our residents. When you arrive and throughout your stay you’re greeted with warmth, passion, and care and our community is vibrant, happy, and homely.
We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.
We are dedicated to providing a smooth transition into a home where care is from the heart and interaction with residents is paramount. Our residents show us the way. They tell us what they need, and we do our very best to deliver. Every element of our care is considered with their needs in mind. Surrounding everyone with familiarity, security and care, we make their experience with us as fulfilling as possible.

Reviews
My initial feel about the care home was regarding the amount of visual stimulation everywhere, from brightly coloured paintings on the walls of the corridors, with lots of pictures, sayings and quotations. There is even a tea room containing memorabilia from bygone times. It felt very homely and relaxing.
Most of the residents there were dementia patients, and the wonderful staff treat them with nothing but kindness, compassion, respect, politeness and cheerfulness, which I felt was thoroughly appreciated by the residents themselves, and their families when they visited their loved-ones. All this from the senior managers and the care assistants, the nursing staff, the cleaning staff, and the kitchen staff (where the chef was happy to cater for my vegan lifestyle) – too many lovely people to name personally. I can honestly say that nothing was too much trouble for any of them.
We had the pleasure of being residents during our wonderful Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The care home was decorated with flags, bunting and pictures, and the staff put on a party to include all the residents, some of whom wore hats that they had decorated themselves. Some even sang along to the music. The weather was sunny and warm as we sat outside in the brightly decorated garden to eat our specially prepared party meals. The staff of Heffle Court made it a day to remember.
Thank you to everyone at Heffle Court for looking after us. Keep up the good work!

Meet the Manager
Debby is our Home Manager at Heffle Court, here’s a little bit more about herself and the home in her own words:
“I’m passionate about creating an environment where staff can thrive and residents enjoy a contented and dignified life. The knowledge, skills, experience, and continual staff development possessed by staff ensure that all residents regardless of their ability or level of care needed can be accommodated within the home.
Qualifying as a Registered Nurse at the Royal London Hospital over 29 years ago, I chose very early to specialise in elderly care and have gone on to enjoy a fulfilling career.
A highlight of my work to date has been achieving ‘Beacon’ status for the Gold Standards Framework, which champions the very best practice in end-of-life care. I also work very closely with professional peers to ensure high standards are maintained and built upon.
I take great pride in ensuring that Heffle Court is home for each resident. Care is not just about physical wellbeing it is about the resident as a whole person. It’s also about treating the residents as individuals and making sure the care home truly becomes their home.”
