Meet the Manager

Emilie is our Home Manager at East Hill House Care Home, here’s a little bit more about the home in her own words:

“Before starting my career in the care sector, I worked at a school supporting a pupil with special educational needs. I joined East Hill House four and half years ago as a domestic help. I then moved into laundry, then the activities and wellbeing team, before becoming the Home Co-ordinator. I have recently taken on the role of Home Manager at East Hill House and feel my experience of different aspects of the home places me in a great position to lead the team here.

My main responsibilities are to ensure the quality of care is maintained throughout the home and that all procedures are up-to-date and in accordance with regulatory guidelines. To support all my staff and ensure that their training is kept up to date too.

I love to be involved with the activities and events that we hold at East Hill House, as the best part of the job is my residents. Being with them and interacting in a meaningful way and supporting my team, who are a ‘good bunch’.

My biggest achievement was becoming Home Manager. In my spare time I like to go dog walking and have had a horse since aged 11, that I now walk as it is retired from riding. I also love to go and watch my children play football and the whole family are big football fans!

I grew up nearby in Bordon and currently live in Petersfield. I lived in Liss for five years and my children still go to school there. I love the local area. There are plenty of dementia friendly activities happening, including walking football on Mondays and a dementia choir that our residents are involved in.”
