Fiesta time at East Hill House

Our colleagues and residents at East Hill House Residential Care Home in Liss recently held a Mexican-themed party to celebrate Mexican Independence Day.

Each month the team and residents host a themed day and this month the residents chose Mexico. Previous months have included Hawaiian and Caribbean-themed days.

Every year on 16th September, Mexicans worldwide celebrate the anniversary of their country’s independence from Spain with street parties and parades.

The team and residents got into the Mexican spirit by decorating the room and dressing up in sombreros and ponchos whilst listening to mariachi music. Along with food tasting, a themed lunch, and plenty of games, they had a fun-filled day.

Home Manager Emilie Huffer commented, “the residents thoroughly enjoyed this event. From the Mexican-themed lunch to the food-tasting session, followed by singing, dancing, and being serenaded by our wonderful Site Maintenance Officer John who played his guitar. There were lots of smiles and laughter all around.”
