Welcome to Walstead Place
Walstead Place Care Home is a 17th Century Manor House, in a rural setting, near the village of Lindfield, West Sussex. The main feature is the extensive gardens which are kept pristine by our full-time Gardener, Jack. We pride ourselves on being homely and comforting, most people that visit say, “it doesn’t feel or look like a care home but more a home-from-home.”
No two days are ever the same at Walstead Place. We are connected, passionate, organised, and resourceful. We cry, we laugh, we embrace people’s lives and do our best to enrich the lives of our residents on a daily basis.
What does care from the heart mean to the team at Walstead Place?
“A community can mean a lot of different things, to a lot of people, but fundamentally, it’s about the relationships we build and the social units we interact and communicate with. At Walstead, we are a team – friends, family, groups, teachers, mentors and much more. Our common interests are that we are all here for the residents, to make each day they have an amazing one. We do this because we care deeply from the bottom of our hearts to ensure we enrich the lives of our residents in every way.
Walstead Place stands out because we are unique. We want to be a community like no other, and we want to always find things to do, that have not been done before or if they have, let’s go that extra mile – our residents are engaged and they tell us they are happy living here.
We are one big family, passionate about delivering high standards of care.”

We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.
We are dedicated to providing a smooth transition into a home where care is from the heart and interaction with residents is paramount. Our residents show us the way. They tell us what they need, and we do our very best to deliver. Every element of our care is considered with their needs in mind. Surrounding everyone with familiarity, security and care, we make their experience with us as fulfilling as possible.

Meet the Manager
Jacquie is our Home Manager at Walstead Place, here’s a little bit more about herself and the home in her own words:
“I enjoy the daily contact with the residents, their families and all the staff, whilst ensuring that the home is able to provide the appropriate care to all residents while maintaining their independence, privacy and the right to choose.
I am a registered nurse with over 25 years of experience, mainly in elderly care, having worked in nursing homes as an RN and eventually a Home Manager, and further went on to work as operations/area manager for a large healthcare company. I came back to the role of Home Manager as I missed the role and working in a care home.
I am passionate about person centred care and believe in using an individual’s life history when planning their care.”
