Residents at Bradbury House Care Home have been enjoying doing ‘crafting connections’ with The Together Project. Our residents are paired with a child and each month work on a project to send to each other.
The Together Project runs activities that unite different age groups. It is a national charity that looks to boost wellbeing, reduce loneliness and foster stronger, happier communities through intergenerational projects that bring joy.
Our lovely resident Violet and her friend Ava are the friendship of the month for July. The Crafting Connections packs were an instant hit with keen crafter Ava who has sent Violet lots of colourful creations. Both of them love sharing their news with each other and learning more about one another.
Regarding the project, Violet said “I really enjoy receiving my photos from my friend Ava and hearing what she has been up to, it really does brighten my day”. The younger generation can learn a lot from our residents, and we cope to continue to work with The Together Project on ‘crafting connections’ more in the future.
