Southlands Place Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex, is close to Hastings and Eastbourne and all that the Sussex Heritage Coast has to offer. Our community comprises a number of wonderful features including, beautiful central garden’s with vibrant colours, a bespoke pub called ‘The Bluebell inn,’ where residents can enjoy a drink with friends and family, just like they have always done and our specialist Dementia community is interactive for residents specifically with touch and feel experiences.
Life at Southlands Place is happy and vibrant, our resident-led activities and friendly and homely environment and friendly teams are at the centre of everything we do. Our passion for outstanding care and well-being events is embodied in our thriving community.

Daily life at Southlands Place
At Aria Care, we take a genuine interest in you and the way you like spending your time. This means we can tailor your time with us and make sure it’s every bit as enjoyable as life has always been. With round-the-clock care and support, dining experiences and stimulating activities, you’ll soon be calling us “home”.
Morning
- Our caring team ensure everyone has had a restful night and are ready for the day ahead.
- Our team provide a wonderfully nutritious breakfast to set you up for the day.
- You’ll find our residents soaking up the morning sun, enjoying a coffee or tea with fellow residents.
Afternoon
- Have a relaxing time watching your favourite movie during our film afternoons.
- Our beautiful gardens with various seating areas are a perfect space to catch up with visiting family and friends.

- Fun, laughter, and chatter with fellow residents fill the rooms most evenings.

Keeping Things Personal
The welcoming surroundings at Southlands Place Care Home are matched by the high standard of individual care our colleagues provide to our residents. We love learning as much as we can about those whom we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Their life history enables us to connect with the life they want to live.
We support and encourage as much independence as possible, providing individual choice in such things as joining others in the dining room or in front of the TV for meals, or even with helping with daily life in our friendly community. We’ll also help them to personalise their own room with the things they love, so it truly is home-from-home.

Meet the Manager
“As Home Manager it is important to me that our residents receive the care and respect that they deserve and that they see this as their home and family.”
My name is Fiona Yurteri and I have been at Southlands Place for over four years and am proud to have been promoted from Deputy Manager to Home Manager in that time. We provide quality residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis.
As a registered general nurse, I started out my career at Hurstwood Park Neurological centre working in the intensive care unit specialising in brain trauma and injury, supporting patients with Neurological deficits. From there I transferred my skills into working with residents living with dementia. I have previously managed Nursing Homes and supported the needs of a diverse
range of residents.
As Home Manager it is important to me that our residents receive the care and respect that they deserve and that they see this as their home and family. Everyday myself and my team want to make a difference to our resident’s lives, seeing a smile on their face and laughing makes everything worthwhile. I have an amazing team around me and is It is important to me that my team are supported in their roles to assist our residents, as well as giving them the opportunity to develop and learn new skills as this is what has helped me throughout my career. We are all passionate and committed to making Southlands Place a home for all.
I have lived in the local area for over 25 years and my favourite aspect is the sea front as well as the close community spirit, including the strong relationships that our home has with the local community. Outside of work I enjoy running and reading, as well as walking my dogs and spending time with my family and friends. On Tuesday 23rd April we celebrated
🏴 St George's Day 🏴 with a lovely performance by Jennie, singing all the classics with the help of the Southlands Place back up singer's 🏴

Last Monday in knitting club 🧶 we had a new member come to join us. Fraiser the Gentle Greyhound, although he did no knitting (that we know of 🤔) He was loved by all.

Fun with the Parachute Game ❤💛💚💙 Attempting to keep all the small balls on the Parachute whilst trying to catch others out. A fun game that also helps with upper body movement.

Getting in some much needed Exercise when we can, all whilst making it fun and enjoyable of course 😁 After warming up with some light chair exercise we play games like 'keepy uppy' with Balloons 🎈 the parachute game, bowling 🎳 and hoops. All whilst listening to some of our favourite music 🎶
