L’Hermitage care centre and Beaumont Villa care home in St Peters got together recently for our Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. Our colleagues and residents ventured down the rabbit hole together for our Alice in Wonderland themed day, celebrating the power of imagination and curiosity. Our residents have fond memories growing up with the story and all enjoyed a nostalgic day filled with wonder.
Turning our home into Wonderland was great fun, filling the space with enchanting decorations and displays, quirky cake stands, playing card sculptures and beautiful flowery garlands.
Our team all got into character with Liza, our activities coordinator, playing Alice, Administrator Natalie as the Queen of Hearts and carer Yemi as the Mad Hatter, amongst many other quirky costumes that brought a lot of laughs.
Our residents enjoyed a whimsical afternoon of tea and delicious cakes, followed by an Alice in Wonderland themed game of Play Your Cards, based on the Bruce Forsyth gameshow our residents are very familiar with. Our very own Alice hosted the game, and our residents had a great time competing.
We love a good theme at L’Hermitage and Beaumont Villa but this one was particularly fun to put together and we all enjoyed a ‘wonderful’ afternoon celebrating a true classic!
