Keeping Things Personal
The welcoming surroundings at Wytham House Care Home are matched by the high standard of individual care our colleagues provide to our residents. When you arrive and throughout your stay you’re greeted with warmth, passion, and care and our community is vibrant, happy, and homely.
We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.
We are dedicated to providing a smooth transition into a home where care is from the heart and interaction with residents is paramount. Our residents show us the way. They tell us what they need, and we do our very best to deliver. Every element of our care is considered with their needs in mind. Surrounding everyone with familiarity, security and care, we make their experience with us as fulfilling as possible.

Meet the Manager
“We listen to the residents and adapt activities, events and care to their needs, bringing residents and the local community together, as well as their family and friends for real home from home living. We show compassion and kindness to the residents we care for and treat everyone with the upmost love and respect.”
My name is Julie Reeve and I am the Home Manger for two homes; Oaken Holt Nursing and Residential Home and Wytham House Care Home, known collectively as the Oaken Holt Estate.
I have been working in the care sector for nearly 40 years and started my working life with a part-time job in a care home while studying for my A-levels. I had planned to go to university to study journalism, but after my experience in my part-time role, I decided this was my chosen career path. I travelled around a lot as my husband was in the army, so jobs in multiple residential homes, working my way up from Carer, to Senior Carer, to Deputy Home Manager. I have held nine Home Manager positions, the last two being for nursing homes.
As Home Manager everything I do and am responsible for centres around the wellbeing and welfare of my residents and staff. I must ensure that we comply to all a relevant governance and that our care is the highest standard it can be. I feel that the best part of my job is making a small difference to someone’s life every day. I believe that no single person is less important than another and that all roles and functions within our home are equally integral to achieve outstanding care. Everyone within my team gives 110%. We are passionate about the work and believe in improving the lives of our residents.
My biggest achievement so far has been taking my first nursing home I managed from inadequate to good. I have four grown-up children and seeing them all so self-sufficient and independent, also gives me a great sense of achievement. I love to spend time with my family, which now includes five grandchildren. I also really enjoy long walks with my dog and reading whenever I can. The location of Oaken Holt Estate is very pretty and quiet, with plenty of greenery and and wildlife surrounding us. I would welcome any new families looking for care to come and to see our home and meet the team.
