At Moorlands Nursing Home, situated in Lightwater, Surrey, we pride ourselves on the exceptional care we deliver, where relatives, the team, and most importantly our residents are at the heart of all that we do.

Life at Moorlands is a loving, friendly and welcoming atmosphere where residents, the team, and visitors are treated with dignity and respect at all times. We endeavour to make our residents and the team feel happy and pride ourselves on the meaningful interactions between residents. We celebrate diversity and encourage inclusion, celebrating the lives of our residents and promoting independence where possible.

We have great success stories of residents who have regained good health whilst being at Moorlands and subsequently gone back home to be with their families. It is always our goal to make our community a compassionate and caring environment for residents who are being treated for end-of-life pathways and offer support to their families during those difficult times.

The welcoming surroundings at Moorlands Nursing Home are matched by the high standard of individual care our colleagues provide to our residents. When you arrive and throughout your stay you’re greeted with warmth, passion, and care and our community is vibrant, happy, and homely.

We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.

We are dedicated to providing a smooth transition into a home where care is from the heart and interaction with residents is paramount. Our residents show us the way. They tell us what they need, and we do our very best to deliver. Every element of our care is considered with their needs in mind. Surrounding everyone with familiarity, security and care, we make their experience with us as fulfilling as possible.

I volunteered here with my work and WOW what an experience. The house is beautiful with lovely zen areas and gardens too. they have house cats which interact with the staff and residents. and the staff, what can I say? Smiles so high they brightened my day. Lots of energy and care. And the Manager – a star – the pride in her home is evident in her every day. What a lovely place!

Meet the Manager

Mihaela Vornicu is our Home Manager at Moorlands Nursing Home, here’s a little bit more about the home in her own words:

“I lead my professional Care Team in delivering the highest level of care and support for our residents. My commitment to professional development has equipped me well for my role here, where I work hard to ensure that those in my care lead happy and fulfilling lives, whilst maintaining choice over the care and support they receive.

I believe in maintaining strong relationships with residents and their relatives and understand the important contribution that these relationships make to the successful running of a care home.

I feel that the Aria Care philosophy matches up well with my own beliefs on care provision and I am committed to ensuring that all our residents continue to receive the high levels of care and protection they deserve.”
