Daily life at Ivy Court

At Aria Care, we take a genuine interest in you and the way you like spending your time. This means we can tailor your time with us and make sure it’s every bit as enjoyable as life has always been. With round-the-clock care and support, dining experiences and stimulating activities, you’ll soon be calling us “home”.

Keeping Things Personal

The welcoming surroundings at Ivy Court Care Home are matched by the high standard of individual care our colleagues provide to our residents. We love learning as much as we can about those whom we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual needs, interests and preferences. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Their life history enables us to connect with the life they want to live.

We support and encourage as much independence as possible, providing individual choice in such things as joining others in the dining room or in front of the TV for meals, or even with helping with daily life in our friendly community. We’ll also help them to personalise their own room with the things they love, so it truly is home-from-home.

Meet the Manager

“I enjoy all aspects of managing a care home, including making it homely for my residents and offering personal care based on individual needs. I have high expectations and standards, and offer my full support to my team to achieve those standards, by helping, teaching and coaching my team to grow and develop in their careers.”

My name is Ovidiu Andreescu and I am the Home Manager here at Ivy Court. Growing up in Romania and inspired by my mum who worked in the nursing profession, my dream was to become a nurse. After gradIvy Court Care Home Manger Ovidiu Andreescuuating nursing school in 2013 I took the next steps and applied for my first RGN position in the UK. In November 2014 I joined a care home as an RGN and had the opportunity to be Nurse in Charge on shift. I have then progressed to Clinical Lead and Deputy Home Manager in 2016.

As the Home Manager I am responsible for ensuring the service is safe and compliant and our residents and staff are happy at the home. I support my team to ensure they have all the relevant training. I enjoy all aspects of managing a care home, including making it homely for my residents and offering personal care based on individual needs.

It is important to me to support my staff to develop and succeed in their roles, in the same way I have been. I feel very privileged to be in a role which gives me such fulfilment and enables me to bring my knowledge, experience and skills to my team. I have high expectations and standards, and offer my full support to achieve those standards, by helping, teaching and coaching my team to grow and develop in their careers. I love to motivate and make people happy. I offer and expect from my team full commitment in the workplace.

My biggest achievement professionally has been my journey in my career. I went from a pre-registered nurse to Home Manager within five years. Have been a Home Manager for five years and during that time achieved a 10/10 rating from carehome.co.uk and nominated in the Top 20 East of England Care Homes. And in my personal life, it is my lovely family and my wonderful two year old daughter.

Norwich is a historical city and with a large university brings a lot cultural variety to the area. This is also reflected at the home, with many different cultures represented. The staff and residents bring their life experiences to the home and that helps build tolerance and understanding of our cultural differences. Our residents have a wide-rage of personal interests and this is reflected in the activities we offer and the personal touches you will find around the home. Our community here is warm and welcoming.

I love football and used to play myself. My team in the UK is Liverpool. I also love to travel and spend most of my free time exploring somewhere, my favourite place to visit is Sardinia and have been there many times. I would welcome anyone to come for a show around and I look forward to introducing you to all we have to offer at Ivy Court.
