Deer Park View Care Centre is set on the historic royal hunting grounds of Bushy Park, Teddington, Middlesex, overlooking views of the beautiful park. Our dedicated team delivers excellent care that is resident led, making our community a home from home for our residents.

We’re proud to be part of the of the Dementia Friendly Communities Richmond (delivered by Age UK Richmond) which aims to create an inclusive borough where all residents affected by dementia are empowered and supported to live well. They support those with dementia and their carers.

We’re thrilled to share our newest refurbishment at our care home in Teddington with day spaces, the bistro and bedrooms being transformed throughout the home. Showcasing tasteful colour palettes to the thoughtfully chosen furnishings which balance comfort, elegance and functionality. The day spaces project a sense of community and foster social engagement, while private living spaces provide a serene sanctuary for the people who live in our community.

We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.

We are dedicated to providing a smooth transition into a home where care is from the heart and interaction with residents is paramount. Our residents show us the way. They tell us what they need, and we do our very best to deliver. Every element of our care is considered with their needs in mind. As an educator, I’ve taken two different Health and Social Care groups for a trip as part of their industry work experience and both groups have separately mentioned they enjoyed visiting, some have been more interested in developing their knowledge, skills and experience at this care home – both voluntary and paid roles. Both groups also mentioned that it feels more welcoming and homely than previous care homes we’ve visited. Students commented on the fact that regardless of the job role everyone says hello and checks in – from cleaners to managers and all in between. The students are already asking me about more visits to see their ‘granfriends’ that they made there. On the second group’s visit nursery children came to visit, which we’ve not seen on our other visits and it truly showed them the start and end of life care. It also helped them connect theory into practice and was able to further understand human lifespan and development (exam) and meeting individual needs and support care (coursework). On behalf of the students, we would love to thank you so much to all the welcoming staff, Monica (nurse) and Jackie (receptionist) for making us welcome. For future students, I hope we can collaborate and keep connections moving forward – we will keep in touch, most definitely.

A home away from home for my father. Ive never heard a cross/aggressive word from any of the staff towards the residence whilst ive been visiting. I have every faith that this home will care for my father in a respectful caring way.

A lovely small but cosy care home with really nice staff. My relative recently stayed here for some respite before going home. She in her early stages with her Dementia but she was very with happy the care from the team.

Meet the Manager

“I love to create a warm, welcoming vibrant home and make an impact. I welcome all visitors to see our wonderful home and get a feel for the community here.”

My name is Michael Smith and I am the Home Manger here at Deer Park View. Originally from Scotland, I started my working life in banking, before deciding to complete a university degree. I then took some time out and travelled round the world to Australia. I have now worked in care for 14 years within sheltered housing, extra care housing, care homes and nursing homes.

As Home Manager it is my job to listen to our residents, lead the team, answer queries from families and ensure all our compliance requirements are met. I want to ensure that my residents and my team are happy and seeing that brings me joy in my role. I love to create a warm, welcoming vibrant home and make an impact. The atmosphere is extremely important and ensuring that everyone I am responsible for feels part of our community and that each day is a good day and strive for positive feedback on what we do. I believe everything that we do at Deer Park View, we put our heart and soul into, we are passionate about the work and believe in improving the lives of our residents. I always hope to have a positive impact on the place I work in and ensure we have a lively, full, and happy home.
My biggest achievement was completing my social work degree whilst working. I have lived in the local area for over 5 years and one of the highlights of our location is Bushy Park just across the road. We also have Kingston nearby with lots of shops and activity. My passions are my family and football. I have two young children and love all things football. I still support Celtic and many years ago adopted an English club which I still follow – Liverpool. I hope you can find time to visit us soon.
