Coppice Lea Care Home in Merstham, on the edge of Redhill, Surrey is a lovely Victorian country house built in 1881 and has 5 acres of beautiful extensive grounds backing into woodland. Coppice Lea has peaceful and quiet surroundings with visits from various wildlife such as Deer, Parakeets and Birds of Prey.
Life at Coppice Lea is a home from home environment. Our team are caring making our residents lives as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We have a variety of daily activities and entertainment, or you can enjoy quiet areas to just read and relax. Resident centred care is our top priority.

We’re thrilled to share our newest refurbishment at our care home in Merstham with day spaces, the hair salon and bedrooms being transformed throughout the home. Showcasing tasteful colour palettes to the thoughtfully chosen furnishings which balance comfort, elegance and functionality. The day spaces project a sense of community and foster social engagement, while private living spaces provide a serene sanctuary for the people who live in our community.

We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.

Meet the Manager
Ieva is our Home Manager at Coppice Lea Care Home, here’s a little bit more about the home in her own words:
“I have been a nurse for over 30 years, graduating in 1989 in my native Latvia. I started my career working in a hospital, before becoming a Head Nurse in a private GP, where I worked until I came over to the UK in 2010. Whilst I was requalifying as a nurse, I started working in the kitchen of a care home, moving through various departments and positions, working my way up to management level.
It is my responsibility to look after the staff and our residents and manage the daily running of the business. Ensuring we are compliant with all regulations and procedures. I really enjoy the challenges that comes with being a Home Manager and being actively involved in everything related to my home. My main aim is to make our residents lives better.
My biggest achievement has to be my husband and children personally, but professionally requalifying in the UK within four years, knowing no English when I moved here.
I am a dog lover, owning a French Bulldog. I love to travel around the world and as a keen diver, try to dive in every possible place I visit. So far my favourite has to be the Caribbean. When you are under the water, you can forget everything and just relax!
Since coming to the UK in 2010, I have lived in the same house in Crawley, which is only 15 miles from Coppice Lea. I enjoy the fact that we are close to Gatwick Airport and easily commutable to both London and Brighton. We are based in an area that is very accessible.”
