It’s celebrations all round for our team at Claydon House Care Home, as it was rated ‘Good’ following a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection.
Claydon House, which provides residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care, received ‘Good’ in all areas of its inspection, with residents stating “they felt safe”.
The home achieved the rating thanks to its ability to deliver a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led service to residents. Staff were commended for “encouraging people to make day to day choices where possible.”
The CQC report commended the home in its overall summary and noted that “people were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.”
Residents were treated as individuals and the service went the extra mile to grant people’s wishes and provide activities and experiences that met their individual needs with many stating, “it made them feel at home.”
Relatives of residents also praised the home, stating: “They run the home well. Staff are very knowledgeable and confident.”
