Residents and colleagues at Claydon House Care Home in Lewes are celebrating their amazing efforts after walking over half a million steps to support a local dementia charity.
The event, which ran from September 16th to September 20th, saw enthusiastic participation from both residents and colleagues, raising £450 for Lewes and District Dementia Action Alliance.
Throughout the four-day challenge, every able resident and team member was equipped with a daily step counter. Together, the participants accumulated an impressive 544,201 steps, showing dedication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to raising awareness and funds for dementia care.
“We are thrilled with the outcome of this initiative,” said Talia Redford, Administrator at Claydon House. “It was heartwarming to see our residents and colleagues come together with such energy and enthusiasm. The funds raised will make a real difference in supporting individuals and families affected by dementia in our community.”
The £450 raised will directly benefit the local dementia support charity, helping them to continue providing essential services to those living with dementia and their families.
