Care Home Open Week 2023 was a huge success across all Aria Care communities, with activities and events taking place throughout the week involving our colleagues, the people living in our homes and those from the surrounding areas too.
Aria Care is a Founder Patron of Championing Social Care, a volunteer-led group whose vision is to ensure a wider and deeper public understanding, appreciation and respect for social care.
We spoke to some of our Home Managers and community contacts to get their thoughts on how the week went and this is what they had to say:
Laura – Oak Manor Nursing Home
“Care Home Open Week was a big success and had a positive impact. For us, Care Home Open Week is about welcoming the people in the surrounding area into the Oak Manor community and providing support when people require it, with the kindness and compassion Oak Manor is known for. Activities we enjoyed included live entertainment, the launch of our allotment project and our Care From the Heart café.”
Pete – Huntercombe Hall Care Home
“It was lovely to see so many visitors in the Home during Care Home Open Week. A particular highlight for me was seeing so many of our residents dancing and enjoying the entertainment provided for Aria Care’s Coffee Club.”
Jacqui – Walstead Place
“At Walstead we had a fantastic afternoon on Friday, we had our new mayor arrive who really got into the swing of things by helping deliver cakes to the residents. It was a lovely day with fun and laughter and the staff and residents felt it was the perfect day to celebrate being in such a wonderful environment.”
Walstead Place also received some lovely feedback from the Mayor, who had a lovely time at the home, and also some comments from the wife of a resident who shared these kind words:
“I just wanted to thank you and your wonderful team for all the happy, amazing, loving, gentle care you all give not just to Andrew but to everyone.
Thank you, as always, for making our little family part of your big family.
Also – what a brilliant tea party on Friday to celebrate Care Home Open week with gorgeous cakes and fun entertainment! It was so good to meet the mayor as well.”
