Rectory House Nursing Home in Sompting recently took part in Care Home Open Week, welcoming residents, families and members of the community to enjoy a week of activities, food and conversation.
Organised by the wellbeing team, with support from the kitchen and care teams, the week was designed to highlight the warm, welcoming life at Rectory House. Activities included pizza making, baking, flower arranging, a tea party, a community coffee morning and a garden picnic with live music from former team member Kurtis, who performed classic favourites that had everyone joining in.
There were many touching moments throughout the week, such as when a resident too unwell to attend the cheese and wine afternoon was surprised with a specially prepared plate in their room, and when Kurtis sang outside the window of a resident with limited mobility so they could still enjoy the music.
It was a joyful week full of laughter, music and creativity – a true celebration of life at Rectory House.
