Recently at Tall Trees Care Home in Chipping Norton, our residents enjoyed an afternoon of planting spring bulbs.
Joined by Wellbeing Coordinator Maria and Head of Housekeeping Victoria, the residents got their gardening tools at the ready to plant daffodil bulbs for next spring. They enjoyed a spot of gardening, socialising, and took pleasure in planting flowers for those residents who were unable to do so.
Maria said, “we brought in some soil, a watering can, gloves, and pots which we marked with the names of the residents. We then planted the bulbs with those residents who were present. After that, we brought the pots to those residents who could not participate in the activity and had lovely conversations about gardening and spring flowers, which we can all look forward to.”
Resident Grace commented, “planting bulbs is a great idea because we can all see the result of our work in the springtime.”
