Sundridge Court Opens Its Doors and Hearts for Care Home Open Week

Sundridge Court Celebrates Cherished Moments During Care Home Open Week

As part of this year’s Care Home Open Week, Sundridge Court was proud to host Memory Lane — a heartfelt event dedicated to reminiscing, celebrating, and honouring the special memories shared within its caring community.

Held on Wednesday 18th June, the day brought together residents, team members, families, and special guests in a joyful celebration of connection and reflection. The presence of the Deputy Mayor of Bromley added a sense of occasion to the event, as the home opened its doors to celebrate the stories that make Sundridge Court such a welcoming place to live.

In glorious sunshine, residents relaxed in the garden, surrounded by laughter, music and conversation. Many took the opportunity to reflect on treasured moments while enjoying the company of loved ones and friends.

A highlight of the afternoon was a lively and uplifting performance by Mercedes from Mack Entertainment. Her vibrant energy and beautiful voice had the crowd singing along and tapping their feet, bringing a shared sense of joy to all.

Guests were treated to a delicious buffet featuring assorted sandwiches, cupcakes, and a traditional Indian spread. Refreshments included champagne, prosecco, wine, and a variety of soft drinks — ensuring something for every palate.

To prepare for the event, the team and residents worked together to create a special ‘Memory Lane’ display board, filled with photographs and highlights from the past year. The upper patio garden was also given a colourful refresh with newly planted flowers, creating a bright and inviting space that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.

Memory Lane served as a powerful reminder of the importance of sharing stories, creating connections, and celebrating the everyday moments that make life at Sundridge Court so meaningful. It was a day full of warmth, community, and the timeless comfort of shared memories.
