On Saturday 14th September, our colleagues from Southlands Place Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea took part in St Michael’s Hospice’s annual Moonlight and Memories Walk.
St Michael’s Hospice provides support to the local community by caring for patients, families, and carers during challenging life events. Their Moonlight and Memories Walk not only raises money and awareness but also provides an opportunity to celebrate life, love, and friendship.
Home Manager Fiona, Wellbeing Coordinator Alex, and Receptionist Michelle took part in the 10k walk which takes participants from St Michael’s Hospice, along the seafront to Galley Hill and back again.
At the hospice, participants are invited to place an illuminated lantern in the gardens and take time to pause, reflect, and remember their loved ones. Home Manager Fiona and Wellbeing Coordinator Alex dedicated their lanterns to Southlands Place residents, and Receptionist Michelle dedicated hers to her late father-in-law who spent time at St Micheal’s Hospice.
Fiona said, “we wanted to raise money for St Micheals Hospice as they have helped so many residents that have come to Southlands Place, both past and present.”
Congratulations to Fiona, Alex, and Michelle for taking part in the event and raising £826 for the hospice.
