At Southlands Place Care Home we understand the importance of supporting residents to maintain links with their local communities. That’s why we play an active part in our community. We hold events throughout the year, and work closely with groups, schools and charities to ensure residents continue to enjoy a rewarding social life, and the chance to make new friends and try new things.

Our aim is to put a focus on the community. We want to boost morale and encourage neighbourly togetherness as well as to improve health and wellbeing in the district. Below are details or our upcoming events:

Southlands Place Coffee Club
Date:
First Wednesday of every month
Time: 
10.30am

This monthly event is a great place for likeminded people from our local community to get together and make friends, take part in social activities and discuss local issues, all while enjoying a cuppa. Enjoy time with our residents and team, all are welcome.

Film Club at Southlands Place
Date:
Third Wednesday of every month
Time: 
2pm – 4pm

Grab some popcorn and enjoy a film with our residents. This is a monthly event open to our local community.

Canine Cafe
Dates: 25 June, 23 July, 20 August, 17 September
Time: 1-3pm

Join our residents and team with your four-legged friends at our regular Canine Cafe. Tea, cake and a chat. Plus treats for canine visitors too.

Care Home Open Week
Monday 24th  – Sunday 30th June 2024

We are proud to be supporting Care Home Open Week and look forward to welcoming you to our community – our doors will be open to everyone all week. Whether you’re considering care options for a loved one, a healthcare professional or simply learning more about our services we welcome you to visit us. Here are some of the things we have planned for the week…

Monday 24th June –  Knitting Club Hub community activity – 2pm – 4pm
Tuesday 25th June – Canine cafe – 1pm – 3pm
Wednesday 26th June –Southlands Place Garden Art Club – 2pm – 4pm
Thursday 27th June –  Meet the manager tea at The Bluebell Inn  – 3pm (note location is The Bluebell Inn)
Friday 28th June – Creative writing club – 10am – 12pm

Saturday 29th June – Open Day 10 am – 2 pm – join us for our open day, step into the heart of our home, explore our facilities, meet our residents and dedicated team, and learn more about the exceptional care we provide as we celebrate Care Home Open Week. We are creating a 1940s theme Picnic and will be entertained with Army Girls singing.

Sunday 30th June – Join us for iced tea in the garden – 3pm
