The community at Southlands Place Care Home enjoyed a Summer Fete this month and even though the British weather was not kind to us, everyone still had a great time!
We decided to use our Summer Fete as a fundraising event for our chosen charity this year. We had a variety of games being played, hot food served by our brilliant catering team, as well as craft stalls and a tombola. During the day we enjoyed some delicious ice creams from ‘Kim’s Ices’ – thank you for bringing along your truck and supplying everyone with a lovely Mr Whippy!
We also enjoyed an amazing performance from Andy as Elvis. Thank you as always for putting on a great show and donating your fee to our chosen charity. The rain did not put us off and everybody had a fun afternoon.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the team at Southlands Place that helped on the day and despite the weather and having to change the event to inside, we had an amazing amount of people turn up.
Thank you also to all the stall holders for an amazing selection of goodies to buy and to our wonderful Mayor of Bexhill-on-Sea for attending our Fete. To finish the day we gunged our Home Manager Fiona, Deputy Manager Cami and CHAP’s Caroline to raise more money to go towards warming up the homeless this winter. We managed to raise a whopping £1100, exceeding our target – well done everyone!
