Residents and staff at Southlands Place Care Home, paid tribute to all nurses and the whole staff team at the home for International Nurses Day.
Celebrated around the world every year on the 12th May, which is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. International Nurses Day is a time to reflect and celebrate the outstanding contribution nursing professionals provide to the health service.
This year’s theme was ‘Our Nurses. Our Future’. It set out what they want for nursing in the future in order to address the global health challenges and improve global health for all.
We celebrated by presenting our amazing nurses with a gift bag and some delicious cupcakes to enjoy. We had a lovely time celebrating and making them feel special. A few of the team decided to mark the occasion by dressing up as Call the Midwifes and as Florence Nightingale herself!
“What an amazing day celebrating our wonderful nurses. The whole team thoroughly enjoyed honouring this special day. Our dedicated teams consistently go above and beyond to deliver the best possible care to our residents”, stated Home Manager Fiona.
