To celebrate the end of Care Home Open Week, the residents and team at Southlands Place held a Fun Dog Show, which was attended by the Mayoress of Bexhill-on-Sea Lynn Brailsford.
We were joined by family, friends, and our furry four-legged companions on the day. Our residents were the judges for a range of categories including, Cutest Pups, Golden Oldie, Most Looks Like Their Owner, Waggiest Tail, Most Appealing Eyes and Best in Show.
The winners all received a bespoke rosette, and all entries were given a doggy cupcake, made by the amazing Christopher. All proceeds made from the event were donated to a well-known local charity, Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary. The Best in Show category was sponsored by TJ’s Grooming Boutique and the winner received a voucher for a full groom courtesy of our sponsor.
Everybody had an amazing time, and we were delighted our Mayoress was able to attend and meet our lovely doggy friends, our residents and families, as well as our amazing team!

“Our goal is to leave a lasting impact that will benefit future generations by advocating for the benefits of pursuing a career in the care sector.
“Working in care is not just a job, it’s a calling. It requires compassion, dedication, and a true desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
