Southlands Place Care Home have been busy with a range of celebrations for resident’s birthdays and anniversaries as well as trips out and about for the residents to enjoy.
Everyone at the home enjoyed a weekend of celebrations with three residents, Jean, Joyce and Pat celebrating their birthdays in style. There were decorations, cards and gifts as well as homemade cakes by the hospitality team at the home for each of them with their favourite flavours and toppings for all to enjoy. Making each of them feel very special on their big day – Happy Birthday from all at Southlands!
Not only were there birthday celebrations but the home also celebrated a wedding anniversary with Peter and Monica. The couple decided to get dressed up and enjoy a dinner out in town to mark their special occasion. Congratulations and best wishes from all at Southlands!
Some of the residents also wanted to take advantage of the lovely weather we have been having with some trips out. The gents at the home went out to Wylands, where Peter chose and enjoyed the biggest piece of carrot cake in the café. Then it was the turn of the ladies who went to Hastings Country Park where they got to admire the stunning views, they could see Dungeness, the white cliffs of Dover and just make out the north coast of France in the distance. Then they had a drive out to Winchelsea, before returning to the home with a stop off for ice cream on the way.
