The residents and team at Southlands Place Care Home in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, held a little celebration to pay tribute to their nurses this May. International Nurses Day is a time to reflect and celebrate the outstanding contribution nursing professionals provide to the health service. It’s celebrated around the world every year on the 12th of May, which is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.
Once again, we celebrated by presenting our amazing nurses with a bespoke gift bag and some delicious cupcakes prepared by our kitchen team. We had a lovely time celebrating and making them feel special. A few of the team decided to mark the occasion by dressing up as Call the Midwife and as Florence Nightingale herself! This has now become a tradition for us at Southlands.
Home Manager Fiona said, “What an amazing day celebrating our wonderful nurses. The whole team thoroughly enjoyed honouring this special day. Our dedicated teams consistently go above and beyond to deliver the best possible care to our residents. We also wanted to show our appreciation to Bexhill Primary Care Network and to the lovely surgeries that help us every day; so we paid them a visit too with some cupcakes.”
