The residents and colleagues at Rectory House Nursing Home in Sompting were joined by relatives and the local community as they came together to spruce up the outdoor spaces as part of our nationwide campaign Aria in Bloom.
After the success of Aria in Bloom last year when it was launched, we wanted to get involved to make this year’s competition even better and make our gardens beautiful for the people living in our community.
Our garden underwent a remarkable transformation, thanks to the collective efforts and hard work of everyone. Brand new planters, ornaments and our water feature were spruced up. Following a fund day everyone was then treated to the musical talents of Kurtis.
The sun was shining adding to the success of the day and the results were truly impressive. As part of RHS National Gardening Week taking place in May, it was a great opportunity for us to get involved in the Big Seed Sow initiative, a community-growing campaign designed to get communities, groups and individuals sowing and sharing seeds. This year we planted Californian Poppy and Love-Lies-Bleeding seeds.
Home Manager Alicia De La Cruz commented on the success of Aria in Bloom, “It’s incredible to see how Aria in Bloom has brought everyone together to make such a beautiful change in our community. The support and enthusiasm from everyone involved have truly made a difference in enhancing our outdoor spaces. Thank you to everyone who came along and we look forward to seeing you back at our home in the future.”
The winning home and runners up will be chosen in the next few weeks when the plants and flowers have bloomed and the results can be seen in full effect.
