Special Birthday Treats for a Special Oak Manor Resident

Oak Manor Care Home resident celebrates 70th birthday in style

The team at Oak Manor Care Home decorated communal spaces and bought a personalised birthday banner for resident Nikki to celebrate her 70th birthday.

In the morning, we organised a large ‘70’ balloon and banners, as well as an extra special surprise! Nikki has always enjoyed music and in particular our visiting singer, Amanda (The Singing Gardener) so the team booked her to do a special performance on Nikki’s birthday. Amanda performed songs that were popular at special times in Nikki’s life, and we all enjoyed reminiscing with her on the day.

In the afternoon Nikki enjoyed visits from her wonderful family and enjoyed a tea party. She received lots of cards, fresh flowers and so many beautiful gifts.

A few weeks ago Nikki was asked if she could have anything for her special day what would it be. She replied that she would love a special chocolate cake. The cake was prepared by the kitchen team and Nikki was thrilled with it and shared her cake with her loved ones, residents and staff.

Home Manager, Laura said “Nikki is one of the most special ladies you could wish to meet. She is always thinking of others and makes everyone around her happy. Today everyone has made sure Nikki has had the most special 70th birthday, spending the day doing things Nikki loves.”

Speaking about her day of celebration, Nikki said “I have had such a lovely day”!
