Miranda House residents attend Remembrance Day service

Last week, two residents from Miranda House Care Home in Royal Wootton Bassett paid their respects by attending their local remembrance service.

Representing Miranda House, residents Jean and Freda were accompanied by Activities Lead Lorraine as they headed out to pay their respects and lay their wreath at the war memorial located by the town hall.

The residents enjoyed talking to all the dignitaries, and local people and being part of such an important day within the local community. After the service, they headed into a local coffee shop for hot chocolates and biscuits.

Lorraine said, “the Remembrance Day parade is an annual tradition for Royal Wootton Bassett, they have close ties to RAF Lyneham, the military, etc. Lots of our residents also have connections so they wanted to show and pay their respects on behalf of Miranda House.”

Resident Jean said, “I always like to lay a wreath and pay my respect on this day.”
