Welcome to Miranda House

Miranda House Care Home, is situated in the attractive Wiltshire market town of Royal Wootton Bassett, within a short drive from Swindon.

Providing an engaging range of daily activities, the town itself boasts a range of individual shops, pubs and cafés, plus a weekly market, whilst trips out include visits to the nearby Marlborough Downs with its various historical attractions and Jubilee Lake.

Elevating the resident dining experience and ensuring that we cater to all our resident’s needs, we take great pride in having Head Chef Michelle Chamberlain as part of our team who was crowned Aria Care Chef of the Year 2024. Recognised for her exceptional culinary talent, Michelle’s skills and passion are evident in the remarkable meals that she creates for our residents here at Miranda House.

At Miranda House, we cater mainly for residents with dementia, therefore we ensure that there are lots of activities to keep everyone engaged and active, there is never a dull moment here and the residents thrive because of it.

Showcasing tasteful colour palettes to the thoughtfully chosen furnishings which balance comfort, elegance and functionality. The day spaces project a sense of community and foster social engagement, while private living spaces provide a serene sanctuary for the people who live in our community.

We love learning as much as we can about who we care for, so your loved one’s time is tailored to their individual need and interests. This can be as small as knowing when they like to wake up, how they like their tea, and everything about their daily routine. Our team take the time to get to know all our residents and encourage independence and communication.

We are dedicated to providing a smooth transition into a home where care is from the heart and interaction with residents is paramount. Our residents show us the way. They tell us what they need, and we do our very best to deliver. Every element of our care is considered with their needs in mind. Mum went into Miranda House 8 months ago as dementia had sadly deteriorated. I cannot praise all the staff enough, the care given is excellent with respect and dignity at all times in very challenging situations. Each member makes time to answer questions, even though they are always busy. A very welcoming home, thankyou.

I met some of the residents yesterday whilst having a coffee at Costa, the praise for the home was lovely to hear, they sounded so happy and contented, I later bumped into the same bunch in the local charity shop where they told me all the staff were wonderful right from the cleaners to the manager, I have told My husband if I ever need to go into a home Miranda house is the one for me 🙂

I recently visited Miranda House to help support a charity cycling event. Having never been to the site before, I found the staff to be very friendly and professional. I witnessed the caring way that residents and their visitors were looked after. Based on my observations, I would happily recommend Miranda House.

Meet the Manager

Mandi is our Home Manager at Miranda House, here’s a little bit more about herself and the home in her own words:

“I have worked in elderly care since 1987 across only five different homes during this time. I have mainly worked with dementia residents during my time in the sector. I enjoy the aspect of moving homes forward with the team, to ensure that our residents have a meaningful and safe environment to live in. I believe it is important to make sure that relatives are also part of that journey.

I want to be a familiar face out and about at Miranda House and will be actively involved in getting to know all our residents and working with the team to ensure I bring cohesiveness to the home.

At Miranda House, care from the heart means our great team ensures our residents and relatives are cared for as if they were our own family, always going that extra mile. The team also looks after each other, true teamwork. For us caring is always ensuring you are doing your best for everyone. Giving the time to listen, chat, and always being compassionate.”

At Miranda House, care from the heart means the wellbeing of our residents is paramount to us. We work very closely with them and their families and everyone is involved in all aspects of their care. Understanding that providing excellent care goes beyond physical well-being and fosters a strong team spirit and connections to the local community.

Head Chef

As head chef at Miranda House, my responsibilities are to ensure that everyone has a well-balanced and nutritious diet. Engaging in their daily lives to encourage them to retain their independence and to treat them with dignity and respect. I was also crowned Aria Care Chef of the Year 2024 which I am extremely proud of.
