Residents and team members at Miranda House Care Home in Royal Wootton Bassett have joined forces with Wiltshire Hope and Harmony to create something truly special this festive season.

Together, they have recorded a charity CD as part of the Dementia Choir initiative to raise awareness and funds for Wiltshire Hope and Harmony.

Wiltshire Hope and Harmony, a local charity dedicated to providing music therapy, organised the event to bring joy and connection to individuals through the transformative power of music. The recording session, hosted by Dreambase Studios, was a testament to the strength of community spirit. Despite stormy weather, everyone came together, moving the Musical Director to tears with their participation.

The charity album is set to release in time for Christmas, with all proceeds going toward expanding access to community music therapy. This initiative will ensure that more people in need can experience the joy and therapeutic benefits of music.

“We are incredibly proud to have been part of this inspiring project,” said Mandi Short, Home Manager at Miranda House. “It’s a privilege to support the local community and be part of such a fabulous home where residents and team members work together for a greater cause.”

Wiltshire Hope and Harmony expressed their gratitude, stating, “Thank you all so, so much for coming along and braving the storm to help us with this incredible recording. The impact of community music therapy is immeasurable, and this album is a wonderful way to ensure more people can experience its magic.”
