The residents and colleagues at Miranda House Care Home in Royal Wootton Bassett had a full week of themed days to mark Nutrition and Hydration week.
This special week embodies our commitment to putting our residents at the heart of everything we do, creating not just meals but moments of joy, connection, and belonging.
Our residents throughout the week got involved with making smoothies, including a range of fruit and vegetables for all to enjoy, there were fresh fruit platters, hot chocolates and mocktails (cocktails as well!).
There was fun had by all as a range of pastries were made as sweet treats too.
Our residents have a range of dietary requirements so we cater for all, including lactose and gluten free options. During the week one of the people living in our community was celebrating his birthday and our chef prepared a cake made out of fruit due to his dietary needs.
Mandi Short, home manager said “Good nutrition and hydration go hand in hand, both are essential for wellbeing at any age. Within our home we cater to a wide variety of elderly diets and individual needs on a daily basis so it was great to be able to highlight this and get our residents and colleagues involved.”
