Festive fun on ice with Miranda House residents

The residents of Miranda House Care Home in Royal Wootton Bassett recently celebrated the season with a festive day out at Blenheim Palace, where they enjoyed ice skating and Christmas sightseeing. Some residents had ice skated before, while for others, it was a brand-new experience.

Thanks to the wheelchair-friendly facilities, the team were able to include all of the residents, regardless of mobility, allowing everyone to join in on the fun. It was a heartwarming experience, made even more special by the presence of family members waiting to greet residents and share in the joy of the day.

Along with the skating, the group explored the Christmas stalls and enjoyed the festive atmosphere, while taking in the impressive estate where Mr Churchill once resided. The residents and team then tucked into a festive feast of pigs in blankets washed down with some yummy hot chocolate. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed with Resident Freda exclaiming, “these pigs are delicious!”
