The team at Magna Care Centre have celebrated Care Home Open Week by becoming involved in the Queen’s Green Canopy. This is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. It invites people from across the United Kingdom to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’.
Earlier this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. This marked her 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
The residents and team at Magna thoroughly enjoyed combining the planting a tree for the Jubilee with Care Home Open Week. Care Home Open Week is a chance for care homes across the country to celebrate their connections with their local community and we took the opportunity to do that with our local nursery.
Our little friends from Playdays came along to make sure we planted the tree in just the right place. We spent some time playing games, chasing bubbles and eating delicious cakes made by our catering team. Everyone had a special time, and it was great to see the younger generation interacting with our residents.
