The residents and colleagues at Magna Care Centre in Wimborne enjoyed celebrating Nutrition and Hydration week with various themed days and holding their first Open Day on Saturday 16th March.
Throughout the week everyone got involved highlighting the importance of nutrition and hydration for the people living in our community with creative food and drinks. We had a hydration trolley which was taken around the home offering a selection of fruity drinks, including fruit infused water, raspberry lemonade and fresh jelly packed with vitamins and minerals.
On Thirsty Thursday we had a wide range of fruit and vegetables to include in our smoothies, every resident chose their ingredients with six delicious options being made. It gave everyone the opportunity to taste different flavours whilst learning about the health benefits and importance of each fruit and vegetable.
The week finished with our open day where we were joined by friends, family and the local community who took the opportunity to come and meet our residents and colleagues and take a look around our home. There was entertainment so everyone could have a sing and dance. Our hospitality team created delicious canapes which were served in our bistro along with tea, coffee and refreshments.
“We were thrilled to welcome the community to our home. These events were not only an excellent opportunity for individuals to witness the exceptional care we provide but also to join us in celebrating Nutrition and Hydration Week,” said Kayleigh Frulli, home manager.
