At Magna Care Centre in Wimborne, we recently hosted our Hawaiian BBQ party. Our wellbeing team scattered the garden with palm trees, flamingos and bright flowery garlands and invited the local community and businesses to join us and make it a day to remember.
The sun was shining for the perfect BBQ weather and Magna was buzzing with laughter, games and entertainment.
Our chef laid on a delicious BBQ spread that went down a treat and everyone cooled off with ice lollies and 99s from our local ice cream van, ‘Freitas Ices.’
Our bouncy castle was a hit with the kids and our fairground games like Hook a Duck and Ball in a Bucket were all enjoyed by the kids and adults alike.
The brilliant Melanie from West Hill Donkeys brought her donkeys from their usual stomping grounds in Weymouth Beach to join us for the day and the kids had a great time getting rides around the grounds.
Some fantastic local businesses including Mama Jax’s Accessories and Lily’s Homemade set up stalls to show off some of their quirky trinkets and creative personalised items. They were also kind enough to donate some goodies to our raffle.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Magna party without our famous raffle run by the one and only Raffle Roy! As always, he was on top form and the raffle was a great success, with some lovely prizes including jewellery and a Sunday Lunch for 2.
Our Magna family and friends had heaps of fun and we’re so grateful for everyone who pitched in to make this a wonderful day. One of our residents’ relatives commented, “what an amazing event. It’s so lovely to see Mum out in the sunshine enjoying herself!”
