Magna Care Centre in Wimborne recently hosted a one-of-a-kind festive celebration for their residents, families, and the local community with a special performance of A Christmas Carol by Dot Collective, a professional theatre group committed to creating performances that are accessible to those with dementia and additional needs.
The performance featured a mix of props, costumes, engaging theatre, and audience participation, creating an interactive and lively atmosphere. Residents, friends, and family were treated to a festive afternoon filled with mince pies and warm drinks. The Dot Collective team brought the Christmas classic to life, with residents and guests invited to join in the fun, donning costumes and becoming part of the story.
To accommodate the event, the Magna team worked together to clear the main lounge and transform the space into a mini-theatre. The performance was advertised throughout the local community and the event was warmly received, with local families showing strong support.
A special highlight of the afternoon was resident Marjorie’s two sons, who got fully involved in the show. With props and costumes in hand, they embraced their roles and put on quite the show for their audience!
Resident Linda shared her excitement after the show, commenting, “It was such an enjoyable experience! We loved taking part and joining in with the costumes. It made the event so much more special.”
