Pet therapy sessions are a favourite among our residents. These sessions are proven to have many therapeutic benefits, such as improving mood, decreasing stress levels and encouraging social interaction and physical activity.
Ivy Court Nursing Home in Norwich were recently visited by Wycomb Pastures, a mobile petting farm that bring the farm experience to various communities. They brought along Marmalade the guinea pig, Buttons, the poodle, and a chicken named Finger Licking! Residents had a lovely time feeding and petting the animals, especially Buttons who was very affectionate and loved all the attention.
Kingsclear Care Home in Camberley enjoyed a visit from Browells Wood Pet Therapy, a local family-run business that combine their care work with bringing animals to meet the residents across Surrey and Berkshire. They brought with them a variety of animals including a gorgeous miniature horse named Kevin, who was led around the lounge to meet everyone.
Thank you to Wycomb Pastures and Browells Wood Pet Therapy for brightening up our day and providing such a valuable service to our residents.
