Residents Get Green Fingered at Ivy Court

Ivy Court Care Home resident having fun at the Gardening Club

The Gardening Club at Ivy Court Care Home was in full swing at the home this week. As the weather has improved, staff and residents couldn’t wait to get back out into the garden. We started off by clearing out the raised bed area.

Our residents don’t mind getting their hands dirty. They said it was so nice being so close to nature. Putting their ‘green fingers’ to good use engages our residents and helps maintain independence within the home. Activity-based care is also a great way to increase socialisation.

We would like to thank everyone for all their hard work at prepping the raised bed area and we cannot wait to get planting over the coming weeks. If you are a friend of Ivy Court and would like to come and help in the future, we would welcome more volunteers. Please get in touch with us.

Ivy Court provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis. If you are looking for a care home and want to find out more about our home call us on freephone 0808 202 0478.
