The Gardening Club at Ivy Court Care Home has been in full swing over the spring and summer. Last week one of our residents Sue planted some mint in our raised beds and we’ve got a bumper crop of potatoes for our chef to use in the kitchen!
Our residents love spending time in the garden and don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Putting their ‘green fingers’ to good use engages our residents and helps maintain independence within the home. Activity-based care is also a great way to increase socialisation.
We thoroughly enjoy Gardening Club, tidying up and planting new flowers, herbs and vegetables. We would like to thank everyone for all their hard work. We cannot wait to eat more of what we have growing over the coming weeks.
Ivy Court provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis. If you are looking for a care home and want to find out more about our home call us on freephone 0808 202 0478.
