Our residents and team at Hillview Court Care Home in Sauchie, recently ventured out for the day to the Blair Drummond Safari Park. The residents of Maple House, one of our specialist nursing communities, requested the trip to the park after enjoying it so much the last time they visited.
Residents had a great time exploring the petting zoo area, petting the Billy goats, alpacas and ponies, then on to the interactive sea lion show where residents had one-on-one time watching the sea lions performing tricks.
The drive-through enclosure was a highlight of the day, with rhinos, lions and monkeys and our residents had a good chuckle as the giraffes poked their heads through the windows to be fed.
Despite the wet weather, our residents and team had a lovely day, interacting with some beautiful animals and learning about different species.
Margaret’s son David resides at the home. She commented, “I was so happy to see the pictures of David and his friends at the Safari Park – lots of smiling happy faces! So good to see everyone out in the fresh air enjoying themselves.”
