Residents, loved ones and team members recently gathered at Hillview Court Care Home in Sauchie for a morning of hot coffee, tasty treats, and a raffle to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Strathcarron Hospice.
Macmillan Coffee Mornings are an annual tradition at Hillview Court and a great way to get people together for a cuppa and a chat while raising funds for an amazing cause – cancer support and research. The team also decided to use this opportunity to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice, another cause very close to theirs and their residents’ hearts. These donations will go towards helping people with incurable illnesses to have a better quality of life.
Members of the team, residents and loved ones all put their baking skills to the test and brought in a variety of cakes and desserts on the day to donate to the cause. Wendy, a former colleague, baked a lovely Macmillan themed Cake and donated it to Tillicoultry Nursery who were also doing the Coffee Morning. Thanks to everyone’s joint effort and generosity, Hillview Court raised an outstanding £302 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The raffle was also a big success, with many donating prizes for winners and buying tickets, raising £200 to donate to Strathcarron Hospice.
Home Manager, Laura Davidson, commented on a very proud day for everyone at Hillview Court – “it was lovely to see everyone coming together for a good cause – a massive well done to team Hillview for all their hard work!”
