Staff and residents at Gildawood Court took some time out this month to get creative to celebrate the love! Arts and crafts activities are a great way to keep hands and minds occupied, as well as providing an outlet for your creative side. Our residents loved making these ‘loving hands’ for Valentine’s Day.
Activity-based care is a key ingredient for our residents to feel engaged and helps socialisation within the home, which is why craft sessions like these are so popular along with baking activities! Smells and scents can evoke memories that have a calming and relaxing influence – like the smell of baking. This type of activity can also stimulate discussions about favourite meals or recipes and reminiscence of baking with parents or children. Just look at our wonderful Valentine’s cupcakes made and decorated by our residents!
Gildawood Court has 60 bedrooms, with several of them enjoying views over the delightful, landscaped gardens. The home provides residential dementia care on a permanent or short stay basis.
