Festive cheese & wine afternoon at Garth House

Garth House Care Home in Dorking was filled with Christmas cheer as residents, team members and the local community gathered for a cheese and wine afternoon to celebrate the holiday season. They were delighted to welcome special guests, Mole Valley Councillors Cllr Margeret Cooksey and Stephen Cooksey, who joined them for the festive occasion.

The talented musician and Garth House favourite, Anthony Castleman, put on a great show and everyone enjoyed belting out some Christmas classics, with a few special requests from resident Joe including some 50s hits from the Rat Pack and the Everly Brothers.

The Councillors toured the home and its excellent facilities, while appreciating the charm of the historic listed building. They also got chatting with residents, who shared stories about their daily lives and spoke about the numerous improvements made to the home in recent years. Resident Betty commented that it’s “so wonderful to be here. I’m enjoying every minute of it!”

Another fantastic day at Garth House was all thanks to the team’s collective efforts as well as the local community for their invaluable support.
