Residents and staff at Garth House Care Home celebrated the day of love last month. They did that with love letters, bingo, entertainment, bubbly and delicious food.
Our resident’s started the day by enjoying a Valentine’s Day history presentation by our Health and Wellbeing Coordinator. Followed by reading through some historical love letters and then enjoying a Valentine’s themed game of bingo!
For the rest of the day, we all celebrated with a Valentine’s Day party. Award-winning Kathleen Linton-Ford came into Garth House and performed for us all. During the party our residents enjoyed a glass of bubbly, whilst singing and dancing together.
Our Head Chef Glenn made delicious cakes and biscuits for the party – which everyone loved! One of our residents’, Freda said “I was not expecting anything like this. I’ve had a lovely time and enjoyed every minute of it”.
Another resident Cyril enjoyed being part of the event and said that he “enjoyed the bubbly”. Resident Maureen said “it was an absolutely great event. I enjoyed the presentation on Valentine’s Day and reading the historical love letters. There’s always something to learn”.
