Recently at Galsworthy House Nursing Home in Kingston-upon-Thames, the team celebrated resident Edward’s 100th birthday.
Edward, who joined the home just a few months ago, marked his special birthday with a private lunch surrounded by close family.
Born and raised in West London, Edward spent much of his life in Fulham and built a successful career in the City of London working for Guardian Royal Exchange. He was also a qualified barrister.
A man of many talents, he served as a second pilot in a Lancaster bomber during the Second World War, contributing to the country’s efforts with courage and determination.
Now settled at Galsworthy House, he continues to enjoy reading literature and biographies, keeping up with current affairs, and listening to classical and jazz music.
When asked about the secret to his long life, Edward replied simply, “Luck.”
The team joined in the celebrations, raising a glass to mark Edward’s remarkable milestone.
